| National ALl Styles Launch Tournament – Birmingham |
|
Another great start for NAS, Birmingham has arrived!!! Again similar to the first launch in the UK, the numbers were lower as many clubs like to watch first or just test the water sending in their higher grades, however the general consensus at the end of the day was that is was a great day, executed with professionalism and a very high standard being set by the NAS team from the officialling to the trophies to the quality of martial artists competing. Again the standard is being set from day one. I have to say the level of appreciation for all styles was phenomenal.
An amazing form from John Lobb in the male opens who is a Wing Chun Practitioner was inspiring and raised cheers and applause from the whole arena. He then was finally knocked out of the continuous sparring by his teamate Morgan McDowell with some awesome fighting. These two competitors have never fought non-contact before and showed extreme skill and precision in adapting their fighting instantly.
The Male opens was spellbinding with the whole arena focusing on the division. The control was great and spirits high and Chief Instructor Reece Fitzgerald of FSKD was pipped to the post by James Home of Go-Kan Ryu in the point sparring.
I would like to thank Mr Reece Fitzgerald for bringing his team to the launch of NAS he brought a coach load of students to the event and they all respected encouraged and appreciated every other style there in the spirit of NAS, and took to the rules and left with many shiny gold trophies to take home.
I would also like to thank all the other participating clubs, from Bromyard Taekwondo, Go-Kan-Ryu and Wing Chun Kung Fu and lots more for making this launch a truly memorable one.
