| NAS UK South East Round 1, 6th May 2007 |

The NAS is back for its 2nd year, and came back with as much of an impact as the year before, virtually on it’s first birthday!!!
We saw the same clubs re-enter once again only this time as a larger force and some new clubs join the circuit.
Round 1 started with a buzzing atmosphere and the continued throughout the day. We kicked off with the kids seeing Laura Miller from Martial fitness fight her way through many rounds to take the title. The 12-14 Female continuous saw Autumn Neeson and Natalie Sanders from the Fight Factory take 1st & 2nd Place, fight factory have been training specifically for the NAS and it shows as their team are quite a force on the circuit. The 14-15 Male Sparring was taken by young Thomas Kelly from SAMA. Tony Hall-Chambers from Fighting Fit had a great day achieving 1st in the male sparring Novice and 2 nd in the Male Veterans Sparring.
The reigning Champion of Champions fighter from 2006 Richard Canton returned to the NAS, however due to injury decided just to compete in the Veterans forms and sparring, of which he took both 1st places.
Caroline Smith from Go-Kan-Ryu, a newcomer to the circuit took away a 1st Place Trophy for Female Black Belt Open Forms and 1st for her Team in synchronised forms.
Brett Mundy from Akuma Tora reclaimed his title for the weapons. And Master James Farrell of Go-Kan-Ryu got a ‘hat trick’ by taking home the 16-17 5th – Black Forms, Sparring and Continuous.
Darren Chan nearly took the hat trick for the Male Black Belt Opens, first conquering the Forms Division, then the continuous, unfortunately in the Sparring event whilst fighting an awesome bout against a previous NAS champ in this division, young talented Paul Abel from Khalsa Karate, a bit of over excitement and a moment of madness resulted in both competitors being disqualified, after clear instruction from the referee, the matter was resolved and both Paul and Darren shook hands. This resulted in a new winner for the division. Mat Broomfield of Go-Kan-Ryu moved up from 3rd Place to take the title and Aaron Patten moved up to claim 2nd, under NAS rules no 3rd place is awarded.
NAS is back…!!! We invite you on our journey…!!!
